Baltimore-based musician Geoffrey Welchman's first album, Comfort Noise, has been called "delightful" and "refreshing," and features 10 of his "strong melodic songs." Comparisons to acoustic artists like David Wilcox and Keller Williams testify to the level of his performances.

GW is that rare creature: the music critic who can actually play! The former writer for Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, RayGun and Might crafts "thought-provoking" songs on topics like love, life, and monsters. His guitar and voice "meld" with such intimacy that Music Monthly says "do your mind a favor and pick up this record."

GW's bluesy folk/pop live repetoire can be heard every Wednesday evening at Donna's Charles Village Coffee Bar. Donna Crivello of Donna's praises GW for "adding a terrific element by playing his wonderful music for our customers."

Mixing originals and covers (Beatles, Crowded House, Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd), GW fills out his sound with the aid of sound loops, letting him jam and even harmonize with himself!
